If you're like me, you spend hours hunched over your computer and sitting endlessly during the day. Well even if you get up and walk around every hour, sitting for a long time does a number on your posture. I noticed that my shoulders are now naturally hunched and roll forward even when I am not sitting at my desk.
I decided to take a positive step towards reversing that trend -- and while it is not easy, there are several effective ways to combat the hunch. One way is "chest opener" stretch like the one above (also can be done standing up).
Great for keeping the shoulders from rounding forward, and opening up the airways to keep the breathe flowing.
Another great way is to use a pole/stick (whatever you have handy and hold it out moving it back and forth from your chest to your back.
Do these stretches several times throughout the day -from first thing in the morning, every hour while at your desk and just before your leave your desk -- your emails can wait! You'll see a much improved posture.
And don't forget to treat yourself to a special sugar scrub while you shower!
